Commissioner Rob Lewandowski opts not to seek another term

Fully supports 2025 Team Collingswood slate.

Commissioner Rob Lewandowski, part of the Team Collingswood slate since 2016, has announced he will not seek reelection in 2025. Citing a need to focus on family matters, Rebecca Sieg will fill out the ticket along with incumbents Jim Maley and Morgan Robinson.

"Over the past couple of years, my family and I have faced some devastatingly hard challenges. Through it all, Jim and Morgan supported me as friends and co-commissioners and even carried me when my attention needed to be somewhere else. For that I am eternally grateful. I always will be. I also know, with a new term to come, I would not be satisfied with myself unless I could dedicate one hundred percent to the job of commissioner, and I just can't do that right now. Thankfully, I step aside with the confidence and expectation that Becky’s contributions to the community will far exceed mine. She will make an outstanding commissioner,” said Lewandowski.

Throughout his tenure, Lewandowski served as the Commissioner of Public Works, Parks, and Public Property for more than eight years, playing a key role in advancing Collingswood’s Government Energy Aggregation policy, pedestrian safety and park improvements, and the expansion and modernization of recreation programs. He also played a critical leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lewandowski also served on the Planning Board and the Collingswood Partners Executive Board. He led the town's gala planning committees and was a regular at Saturday morning Green Team community clean-ups. Having served on the School Board, he was always a champion of showing appreciation for Collingswood’s teachers and educators, once arranging a red carpet welcome for staff on the first day of school.

“Rob has been an outstanding Commissioner and brought years of public service experience to his role,” said Maley. “It’s hard to lose his insights but we support him in his choice to focus on family and professional pursuits. To maintain the balance of experience and new ideas that bring the strongest leadership to the Borough, Morgan and I feel it’s important to run again to fill the void Rob will leave and provide stability and experience, alongside Becky’s enthusiasm for a new term.”

“The days, months, and years ahead will be tough for our community, (they will be for all communities), and I ardently believe that experience and competence will matter more than ever. I am regretfully leaving the ticket, but I plan to stay involved, stay in touch, and most certainly support Team Collingswood,” said Lewandowski.
