Team Collingswood Announces Slate of Candidates for 2025 Board of Commissioners Election

Collingswood, NJ — Incumbents Jim Maley and Morgan Robinson will run for re-election this May along with newcomer Rebecca “Becky” Sieg under the Team Collingswood ticket. Current Commissioner Rob Lewandowski will not seek re-election.

Mayor Jim Maley led Collingswood’s transformation from a sleepy suburban corridor into a thriving, walkable downtown, turning Haddon Avenue into a bustling hub of businesses, dining, and community life. Working alongside residents and local leaders, he has championed revitalization efforts that strengthened neighborhoods, supported businesses, and enhanced public spaces, attracting both businesses and new residents and positioning the town as one of the most desirable places to live in the Philadelphia region. His vision and expertise, along with his colleagues on the Board of Commissioners, continue to drive Collingswood’s growth and success.

“Today, more than ever, it is essential to ensure that Collingswood maintains a mix of leadership that includes experienced leaders. As we manage increasingly complicated issues with budget caps, water requirements, state, and federal mandates - local government is more challenging than ever. Partnerships and experience will be key to maintaining our success and stability as a municipality, while, at the same time, providing fresh leadership. Morgan and I are excited to have Becky join Team Collingswood to give new insights, especially regarding our schools and educational matters,” said Jim Maley.

Commissioner Morgan Robinson seeks a second term. A former Haddon Avenue business owner, she spearheaded LGBTQIA+ and Green Team initiatives and served as the May Fair chairperson during her first term. Morgan’s three sons attended Collingswood schools and the youngest is graduating CHS this June. She resides in town with her youngest son and her dog, Cedar. Professionally, Morgan is a freelance editor, writer, and leads therapeutic art retreats for women.

“I’ve learned so much in four years and there is so much more to do,” said Robinson. “This team has shown me how much you can build through thoughtful discourse, innovation, and pairing new ideas with proven leadership. Collingswood is the place other towns look to because of that balance.”

Rebecca Sieg will join Team Collingswood seeking a first term. A mother of two Sharp Elementary students and Fulbright Fellowship recipient, she is the president and founder of Rekindle Education which seeks to strengthen math outcomes for students through piloting, assessing, and scaling initiatives that support New Jersey teachers. She has worked in the educational sphere, including at the NJ Department of Education, for more than 15 years.

“The impact Team Collingswood has on the Borough is one of the reasons our family moved to Collingswood over a decade ago. The knowledge and focus Jim and Morgan bring cannot be overstated. The energy and new ideas I bring to the table are such an important part of the puzzle as well. It’s about balance - experience and fresh eyes,” said Sieg.

Commissioner Rob Lewandowski is leaving the ticket after more than two terms to focus on family but remains a strong supporter of Team Collingswood.

“This is the team to lead our wonderful town and to keep it the place we know and love,” said Lewandowski, “I’ll be campaigning right along with them this year.”

Team Collingswood’s focus will be on maintaining excellent municipal services while leveraging partnerships and experience to continue to build and grow the borough, especially as municipalities navigate new challenges. Maley, Robinson and Sieg will focus on:

• Responsive, inclusive, and engaging leadership

• Commitment to environmental sustainability

• Building a supportive community

• Enhancing the quality of life for all

• Providing reliable and efficient services

• Responsible financial stewardship

• Fostering a strong small business economy

In the last four years, Collingswood has received millions in grant funding for recreation improvements in Borough parks and venues like the Scottish Rite Auditorium, infrastructure improvements like road resurfacing, pedestrian safety improvements, water plant upgrades, and sustainable initiatives like installing the first public electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations in Camden County and bringing EVs to the Borough’s municipal fleet.

Team Collingswood also implemented the addition of food equity programs such as SNAP and Good Food Bucks at the Collingswood Farmers Market and brought the Virtua Eat Well Mobile Market to the west side of town, completed a new shared Public Safety building and Public Works facility, will be breaking ground on a new water plant to meet state and national PFAS (“forever chemical”) standards, and recently announced a new pocket park coming to the downtown this spring. They also brought a renewed focus to improvements on the west side of Collingswood in partnership with invested residents, managed a trash crisis with the creation of a sanitation department in less than 48 hours and partnered with Rowan University, Camden County, the NJDOT and other agencies to advance critical projects like intersection improvements and long term asset management plans.

“Every iteration of Team Collingswood has brought a new level of success and insight through both prosperity and challenges like pandemics and recessions and Collingswood has continued to thrive. It is a uniquely winning combination that I am so proud to continue. The next four years require a partnership and team that fosters growth, blending institutional knowledge with fresh ideas to keep Collingswood thriving,” said Maley.

Team Collingswood will host Campaign Kick-Off Meet & Greets on Wednesday, February 19, 7-8:30 PM at JS Wellness & Fitness in West Collingswood and on Saturday, February 22, 12:30-2:00 PM at Upcycle Fitness & Social Club on Haddon Avenue.
